    Workplace Giving is our term for annual charity campaigns in the workplace.

    It allows employees to make a financial contribution to nonprofit organizations. And – just as important – it gives them a way to connect to the lives of many others in the community.

    Most employees prefer the ease and simplicity of Payroll Deduction, where a small amount is automatically deducted from the paycheck every pay period. Payroll deduction is a relatively painless way to give, and that allows employees to contribute more than they could otherwise.

    Community Shares is unique in that we encourage the employee to designate where his or her dollars will go. By writing in their designation, they can support either one or several of Community Shares' 35 member organizations, or support all of them equally with a donation right to Community Shares.

    And because Community Shares believes so strongly that the donor is best qualified to determine where his or her pledge dollars should go, he or she can designate their dollars to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency in the state through our campaigns – we will gladly pass along the donation to that organization.
